Our Youth Justice crime prevention grants empowers local communities and fosters stakeholder collaborations to address local youth crime priorities.

Community organisations, businesses and individuals with innovative solutions to tackle the causes of youth offending in their area are encouraged to apply for a grant.

Note that our department provides one-off funding for projects. If you require on-going funding, we suggest seeking funding from an alternative source.

What is the main focus of your project?
Early intervention, crime prevention and community safety Address complex causes of youth crime focusing on young people who are or could become serious repeat offenders
  • Young people generally aged 8–17
  • Reduce youth crime and reoffending, enhancing community safety
  • Strengthen early intervention and prevention services for at-risk youth
  • Introduce a new concept or build on an existing successful initiative
  • Support young people in the justice system to foster positive relationships, health, education, and work skills
  • Up to $75,000 in funding
  • Young people generally aged 10–17
  • Addresses predictors of youth offending, thinking and behaviour
  • Supports family and community to address and manage the varied, and often complex, causes of offending
  • Is designed in partnership with the local community
  • Targets the unique issues being experienced by local communities
  • Introduce a new concept or build on an existing successful initiative
  • Up to $300,000 in funding
