Master of Ceremonies
Tim Cox
Tim has been hosting events of all sizes for 3 decades. By day, he is a Senior Communications Advisor at the Local Government Association of Queensland, but previously spent 25 years as an award-winning broadcaster on ABC Radio—a destiny foreseen by this grandmother, who said Tim had been 'vaccinated with a gramophone needle'.
Tim has a way with words: on stage, behind a microphone, in front of crowds and pushing a pen. He also has a way with people. He is a highly-experienced events facilitator and master of ceremonies, pundit, speaker, interviewer, and advisor. He brings any sized event to life with a mix of entertainment, information and a keen eye on the clock.
Tim is currently based in Tasmania but works—really works—everywhere. Previous events Tim has hosted and convened include Australian Newsagents Federation National Conferences and Awards QLD, Tasmanian awards, Tasmanian Training Awards, Queensland Disability Conference, Real Estate Institute of Australia National Awards, Housing Industry Association Awards, Institute of Architects Awards, Tasmanian Cricket Association Awards, Anglicare Conference, Tasmanian School Administrators Association, South Australian Schools Administrators Association, Tasmanian Institute of Sport, Symphony Under the Stars, Environment Tasmania Awards, staff events for firms as diverse as Searson-Buck and Zinifex and many more in between.
Plus numerous other events in health, rural health, recruitment, resources, education, management, disability, aged care, hospitality and tourism, food and wine and... the seafood industry! And scores of 'in-kind' events for charities and not-for-profits, from quiz nights to debates to staff events and more.
