The Queensland Government will cover the cost of your training with a training provider when you choose a high priority apprenticeship or traineeship. Just choose the qualification you want, find an employer to take you on as an apprentice or trainee in that qualification and we'll cover the cost of your training. Your employer will pay your wages, and you might have to meet costs related to any uniform or other training resources.

Are you eligible?

If you're under 25, you're in. Find an employer to start an apprenticeship or traineeship in one of the priority qualifications. You must commence, or be undertaking, your training between 1 January 2021 and 31 December 2024.

You must also meet other general eligibility requirements for apprenticeships and traineeships.

There are more than 130 priority apprenticeship and traineeship qualifications offered under the program. Just choose 1, then take the next steps for your future. These include qualifications in:

  • Automotive
  • Communications – information technology
  • Community services
  • Construction and civil
  • Engineering and aviation
  • Food processing
  • Furnishing
  • Hospitality
  • Laboratory operations
  • Mining
  • Primary industry and horticulture
  • Process manufacturing
  • Retail
  • Sports and recreation – racing
  • Textile, clothing and footwear
  • Utilities and electrotechnology.
