The Australian and Queensland Governments are providing joint funding to deliver additional training places in accredited short courses and qualifications to Queensland job seekers, school leavers and young people. This funding aims to provide the skills needed to find work, re-enter the labour market or explore new work opportunities as Queensland's economy recovers from the impacts of COVID-19.
From 1 October 2021, the JobTrainer Fund included a focus on aged care, childcare, disability care and digital skills.
To be eligible for a JobTrainer funded training place, students must enrol by 31 December 2022. Places are limited. Students should check availability and eligibility under JobTrainer or other subsidy programs with training providers.
JobTrainer operates as a component of Queensland's existing vocational education and training (VET) investment programs, primarily Certificate 3 Guarantee and Higher Level Skills, and will provide access to additional training opportunities that complement the training already available for Queenslanders.
