The Queensland Government is taking steps to identify a new operator for the Queensland College of Wine Tourism.
In January 2025, the Queensland Government will open an expression of interest process seeking applications from prospective operators of the college.
The aim is to identify partnerships that add value to the region and community as well as secure a sustainable future for the college.
The Queensland Government is working closely with local representatives to ensure this transition benefits the region.
The University of Southern Queensland will continue to operate the college during this expression of interest process.
The restaurant and other hospitality facilities of the college will remain operational while this process is undertaken, with training transferred to Stanthorpe State High School with support from TAFE Queensland.
The university will support all current employees of the college while the expression of interest process takes place.
The Queensland Government is committed to supporting the Southern Downs community through the best use of the Queensland College of Wine Tourism into the future.
