The Queensland Government has selected a local consortium as the operator to take the Queensland College of Wine Tourism into an exciting new era.
The experienced consortium will be led by the Stanthorpe and Granite Belt Chamber of Commerce and include representatives from Granite Belt Wine and Tourism, Granite Belt Growers Association, Queensland Country Tourism, Queensland Wine Industry Association and Southern Downs Regional Council.
The consortium will establish and deliver 'The Precinct' – a dynamic hub to support training, workforce development and employment pathways in agribusiness, hospitality, tourism, and wine and food production.
The facility's restaurant and function centre will continue to operate under the new arrangement with the aim of becoming a premier dining destination and training hub.
The decision follows an expression of interest process that ran from January to March 2025 inviting interested parties to outline future trading opportunities for the facility.
New arrangements for the facility are expected to be finalised by the Department of Trade, Employment and Training by mid-2025.
