The Tourism and Hospitality Gateway to Industry Schools project aims to help young people make a successful transition from school into further education and/or employment in industries including:

commercial cookery
wine and beverages
hospitality
tourism
events
travel.

Students gain insight into career opportunities within these industries through a combination of school, vocational and academic programs designed to meet industry needs. Both students and teachers at participating schools receive direct support, including access to industry networks, training, professional development, work experience, and educational opportunities.

Participating schools

The Tourism and Hospitality Gateway to Industry Schools project assists teachers throughout Queensland to form strong partnerships with the food, wine and tourism industries.

The project is open to both private and public schools.

Opportunities and events

The project offers strengthened industry connections, tailored training, workshops, industry validations, and practical vocational experiences, all aimed at inspiring and preparing the next generation of tourism and hospitality professionals.

Industry-hosted Gateway Days for teachers are designed to offer professional development and industry currency through behind-the-scenes tours and hands-on experiences in each region.

Online workshops and demonstrations are also available for both teachers and students.
