A key aspect of managing the ongoing quality and integrity of the principal employer organisation network in Queensland is the process for monitoring and evaluating continued compliance with requirements for recognition in this state.

To maintain recognition as a principal employer organisation (PEO) in Queensland, a PEO needs to ensure its operations continue to comply with its certificate of recognition as a PEO, including maintaining compliance with the Queensland Quality Standards for principal employer organisations and the Operating requirements for principal employer organisations in Queensland.

To demonstrate continued compliance against the Queensland Quality Standards, all PEOs will undertake:

  • a self-assessment process by 31 December each year, and provide to the department a certification that the self-assessment has been completed and that the organisation is compliant against the Queensland Quality Standards for principal employer organisations by 31 January of the following year
  • a quality compliance audit in accordance with the Queensland Quality Standards at least once every 3 years, from the date of the last audit.

Failure to maintain compliance against the Queensland Quality Standards for principal employer organisations or to submit the annual self-assessment certification may result in cancellation of its certificate of recognition to operate as a PEO in Queensland.
